Sizzlers

Reggie Jefferson        .667 Sluggling %, 22 RBI-Reggie's playing like that
other                                Reggie-i.e. MR. October.

Chuck Knoblauch         40 runs scored, 15 doubles, and a hot .402 batting
average its                          no wonder Chuck slugged at a .732 rate.
And it's no surprize                           that the Cougars go 23-7 this
month.

Marquis Grissom         10 Home Runs, 25 RBI as Marquis flexes his muscles
this month!.

Henry Rodgriguez        35 RBI's in a month. Yep, that's a projected 210 for
the season.

Barry Bonds             34 RBI's and 14 Home Runs is even more than what
you'd expect                           from Mr. Bonds.  Yet a 15-15 record
for the month raises some                           eyebrows.

Sammy Sosa              15 Home Runs and a .615 Slugging %.  But with a .238
BA, it's a                         home run or nothing for this Northsider.

Danny Darwin            6 Quality Starts, 1.22 ERA and just 8 BB, a very
nice month for                         the veteran hurler. Let's hope
there's more before the carrer's                         over.

Fernando Valenzuela     5-0.  It's 1981 again! Enjoy it before it's over.

Roger Clemens           4-0, 48 k's brings a 2nd Sizzler nomination for
Clemens.  Can't                         wait till next year with these stats
in an "off Rocket year".

Mike Fetters            10 for 10 in saves.  "Mr. Bullpen" here.  Only 1
walk in 13.1                           innings.



Fizzlers


Walt Weiss              With a .165 BA for the month Walt's more like Al.

Todd Hundley            a .188 BA, a downer for this slugger.

Eddie Murray            Steady Eddie could only muster a weak .198 BA.  The
end is near.

Moises Alou             Moises needs to dial his Uncle Matty for some
hitting leasons                         with just a .198 BA.

Julio Franco            Only 3 RBI's for the month.  The sign of things to
come in 1997.


Jimmy Haynes            10.69 ERA, 56 hits allowed.  Look out Boom-Boom Beck!

Sterling Hitchcock      .406 BA., . 469 OBP, 10.69 ERA and a 21.95 runners
per 9                         innings.  Sterling is the first player to make
both the Sizzler                         AND Fizzler list.        

Omar Oliveras           0-5 for the month.  Omar can't muster up any
victories in 6                         starts.

Bruce Ruffin            8 wild pitches earn Bruce the "Wild Man" Ruffin tag.

Mark Portugal           0-4 and 8.91 ERA.  Mark is reaching the twilight of
a dismal                         career (at least while he was with the Reds).
